Description: This is a very loose retelling of the Odyssey in which a father and son undertake their trip beginning in Chile at the southernmost tip of South America in the 1970s. With $5 and some change, they set sail in a 1928 Model A Ford up through the Americas to Detroi, Michigan. They get tangled up with the pantheon of gods that Homer knew, as well as some who have entered the western mind since 2,000 BC, such as Jesus, Green Tara, and an Egyptian Cat goddess named Bastet. An unpleasant brother-in-law uses his ties with Gneral Pinochet to thwart them at every turn. Their legendary story is memorialized by the actual Model A Ford which now sits in the Ford Museum today.
